Short break in Slovenia with steam train excursion
Take a short break and come to Lake Bled, nestling beneath the Julian Alps. Bled is a perfect place in which to relax, to get plenty of fresh air and to visit one of the most scenic areas in Slovenia.
Friday: Arrive Ljubljana airport, transfer to Bled in a group B hire car. Warm welcome at a comfortable tourist farm or guesthouse in Bled.
Saturday: Join us on a steam train trip via breathtaking scenery along the picturesque Bohinj railway line. The departure from Bled is at 9 a.m. We will pass Bohinj and then go through the tunnel under the Bohinj mountains onto the southern side of the Julian Alps, into the Soča valley. The tour will continue by bus to the wine-growing region of Goriška Brda, where you will be served a delicious meal. In the afternoon you will take the return journey by train.
Sunday: Possibility of exploring the vicinity (Lake Bohinj, Gorge Vintgar, capital city Ljubljana, even medieval towns on Slovenian seaside are just 1.5h away from Bled).
Monday: Departure.
Price includes: Three nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation in a standard room on a tourist farm or guesthouse in Bled, 3 days’ car hire – group B (WV Polo, Opel Corsa), unlimited mileage, car insurance CDW and TP, VAT, airport tax, one day trip WITH A STEAM – HAULED TRAIN (program with a meal is included).
