MUSEUM »DRŽAVNA MEJA NA GORIŠKEM« (on the train station)
The building of Novogoriška (north) train station houses permanent exhibition »National border of Goriško 1945-2004« . It is an exhibition on life on the territory of Gorica from 1945 to 2004. This Elegant and magnificent building was open in 1906. In front of the impressive station building there is a big square decorated with a mosaic created by the artist Franco Vecchiet from Trieste, to mark the occasion of Slovenia's entry into the EU. The mosaic represents the breakdown of the divide between Gorica and Nova Gorica and now epitomizes the European integration.
CASINO PERLA (aprox. 20 min walk from the train station towards the city center)

VILA BARTOLOMEI (aprox. 20 min of walking from the train station towards Solkan)
Under the influence of the bourgeois architecture in Gorica, in Solkan, there also appeared many of rich buildings and villas with wonderful gardens. Among them is Villa Bartolomei, which is the seat of Historical founds of Museum of Goriško. Vila Bartolomei houses also an exhibition of Primorska between 1918 -1947.
SOLKANSKI MOST (aprox. 20 min of walking from the train station towards Solkan)
The Famous bridge over Soča river, on the Bohinj railway Jesenice to Nova Gorica, is 85 m long and is most interesting sight. The bridge was built in two years (1904 – 1905) and features an arch 220 m long, the longest stone arch in the world among railway bridges. For the main arch 4533 stones from limestone have been used. Under this remarkable bridge flows the beautiful emerald Soča river. Worth of visit!
THE CITY GALLERY of SNG Nova Gorica
The gallery is located in the building of SNG Nova Gorica and was founded in1997. It represents an important art center in Slovenia. The exhibition space is circular in shape and it covers an area of 361 m². The gallery's exhibition program covers all types of contemporary visual art. GORIZIA (STARA GORICA)
A Few meters from the train station is a border crossing with Italy. To cross the border you need an ID card or passport. Castle hill in Gorizia (aprox. 1 km from the train station in Nova Gorica)
Imposing castle – the symbol of the town, is located behind ancient city walls and is mentioned in medieval notes as upper town. This is where the town's administration and law business were held. In the Castle, which is opened to the public, the visitor can see the Palace of the Counts, Palace of the Provincial States, Palace Veneto, Church of Holy Spirit, Provincial Museums and War museum representing the 1st World War (at the entrance are standing two soldiers, dressed in different uniforms, which were merged in a war field).
Old town
If you descend from the castle hill through the avenue D'Annunzio you will come to the historical center with its charming squares and old, narrow streets full of churches, cathedrals and palaces.
Synagogue
This Israeli sanctuary, made in 1756, is located in the area where once was the Jewish Ghetto.
Inside one can visit big arcade hall and very interesting Museum of the “Little Jerusalem on the Soča River”, defining the local Hebrew community.
City parks
As Nova Gorica is known as the city of roses, Gorica could be the city of parks. More than one half of the surface is covered by green and beautiful gardens. They offer endless, relaxing walks and amazing sights. Each park is different: flower-beds, winding paths, fountains, statues, temples, banks, flower gardens, fields full of unusual and exotic trees, shrubs and flowers. If you intend to visit Gorizia you should not miss a walk through one of the parks.
